10 DAYS SOUTH AFRIKA

Day 01 : Depart for Capetown
Begin your holiday with a pleasant flight to Capetown. It is the oldest city and the political capital of South Africa. A city of majestic splendor and stunning contrast cradled by the imposing Table Mountain. (Meals on Board)

Day 02 : Cape Town - Sightseeing
Welcome to South Africa! Upon arrival, proceed on a tour of this beautiful city. Visit colorful 19th century cottages in the Malay Quarters, the baroque City Hall as well as the Castle of Good Hope, a restored fort of Cape Town. Take a Stroll through the tranquil Company Gardens plus an ascend by cable car up Table Mountain, if weather permits. Spend the rest of your day at the vibrant Victoria & Alfred Waterfront, one of Cape Town's biggest tourist attractions. Much of its charm lies in the fact that this busy commercial harbors is set in the midst of a huge entertainment venue with pubs, restaurants, specialty shops, craft markets and theatres. (Lunch/Dinner)

Day 03 : Cape Peninsula
This morning, depart on a full day tour of the Cape Peninsula. Travel via Sea Point, Clifton and Camps Bay to Hout Bay, where you embark on a boat ride to Duiker Island, if weather permits. Thereafter, continue through the panoramic drive of Chapman's Peak, known as one of the world's most scenic marine drives, along False Bay and arrive at Cape Point, the south-western tip of the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve. This place is particularly lovely in spring when wild flowers carpet the entire landscape. A lobster lunch will then be served at a local restaurant. After lunch, make a stop at Mineral World, a gemstone factory then continue driving into Boulders Beach and see the adorable penguins. Next, drive past Simon's Town, an old naval base, Muizenberg, Fish Hoek and arrive at the manor house of Groot Constantia, the oldest wine estate in the country. Your last stop of the day brings you to the Kirstenbosch Botanical Garden, beautifully situated on the eastern slopes of Table Mountain; it boasts some 6000 species of the indigenous plants of Southern Africa. In the late afternoon, return to Cape Town for the night. (Breakfast/Lobster Lunch/Dinner)

Day 04 : Cape Town/Mossel Bay/Knysna
After breakfast, you will take the N2 motorway via the breathtaking Sir Lowry's Pass to the historic and architecturally interesting town of Swellendam. Then, on to Mossel Bay where the tour will bring you to the Bartholomeu Diaz Museum Complex and the Old Post Office Tree. Thereafter, continue via the coastal resort town of the Wilderness and reach Kynsna in the afternoon with time to explore this fascinating town on your own. (Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner)

Day 05: Knysna/George/Oudtshoorn
Wake up to another beautiful day! Take the Outeniqua Choo-tjoe steam train across the Lakes and through the forests, reaching the town of George at midday where your guide takes you on a short tour of this town. Continue your journey over the Outeniqua Pass into the semi-desert Klein Karoo and on to the ostrich capital of the world, Oudtshoorn. This afternoon, visit Cango Caves, international renowned as one of the world's great natural wonders. Sculpted by nature through the ages, their fascinating limestone formation occurs in a variety of ways. A guided tour will take you through the calcite caves, revealing shapes enhanced by strategic lighting. Next you will visit the Crocodile and Cheetah Farm, following that the Ostrich Ranch. Come face to face with the biggest bird in the world and enjoy an ostrich dinner at the ranch. (Breakfast/Lunch/Ostrich Dinner)

Day 06 : Oudtshroon/Cape Town
After breakfast, travel through the mountains to the Little Karoo. Changing scenery from lush farmland to semi-desert areas make this a day of surprises. Lunch is arranged at a restaurant in Montague, then travel to Worcester to Du Toit's Kloof Mountain pass and arrive in the late afternoon back at Cape Town. (Breakfast/Lunch/ Dinner)

Day 07 : Cape Town/Johannesburg/Sun City
After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your flight to Johannesburg. Upon arrival, proceed for a brief city tour of Johannesburg and a guided tour of Gold Reef City. Built around an old gold mine, this theme park is a reconstruction of Johannesburg during the gold Rush era. Included in this tour is a descent down an old gold mineshaft to learn how gold was extracted in the past, witness molten gold being poured and watch an exciting display of tribal dancing. After lunch, head for Sun City via a city tour of Pretoria with visits to historical sites, such as the Voortrekker Monument, the Union Buildings and Church Square. Upon arrival at Sun City, otherwise known as the city that never sleeps, the remainder of your day is free at leisure for you to explore this magnificent city on your own. This evening, you may wish to treat yourself to a relaxing and enjoyable extravagant show. (Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner)

Day 08 : Sun City/Pilanesburg National Park/Sun City
After breakfast, the day is at your own leisure. Today, you may discover the many myths and legends from Africa's distant past, which surround The Lost City, a photographer's dream come true with its magnificent ancient architecture and beautiful landscapes. For those who would like to try their luck in winnings, there are many casinos and jackpots available here. For sport enthusiasts, enjoy a game of golf at any one of the two championship courses here or try watersports of any form imaginable at Waterworld, a man-made lake. In the late afternoon, set out in open-top bush vehicles for a guided game drive through the Pilanesburg National Park with an opportunity to view & photograph abundant wildlife at close range while your ranger explains the animals' survival tactics in the wilderness. Do not miss the chance to witness the breathtaking African sunset along the way. Return to Sun City for dinner and rest. (Breakfast/ Dinner)

Day 09 : Depart from Johannesburg
Today is free at own leisure until your departure transfer to the airport for your homeward flight. (Breakfast)

Day 10 : Arrive home
It's home sweet home with only sweet memories and fabulous souvenirs to remind us of a wonderful, exotic holiday experience with Ken-Air.
